Andrew Renton-Green had a military career in the British Army and subsequently the New Zealand Defence Forces before becoming an academic and a consultant on international security and preventative diplomacy. He has worked with the UN in East Timor and with the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on a Pacific Security Strategy. He is an associate fellow of the NZ Centre for Strategic Studies at Victoria University of Wellington.
