SPEAKER: Mr Chris Jones, Founder, Youtap

Chris Jones is the CEO and founder of Youtap. This is a global provider of contactless mobile payments and financial services software. That software enables mobile money and stored value wallet customers to ‘tap and pay’ at any point of sale, using any device.

The first round of implementation was conducted throughout Africa. In the process he accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the Continent.

In the past 20 years his companies have had projects in Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Uganda, DRC, Congo B, Gabon, Rwanda, Benin, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Malawi, Chad, South Africa, Liberia, Swaziland, Sierra Leone, Gambia, and Nigeria.   Outside Africa, they have operated in, Afghanistan, UAE, Seychelles, Jamaica, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, Tonga, Samoa and Fiji.

Currently active projects are underway in Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Cambodia and Myanmar. They include build-outs of Digital Agency Banking Solutions, Challenger Bank solutions, and the implementation of large-scale eMoney & ePayments Processing infrastructure in select countries.

He also serves as the Government of Botswana's Honorary Consul-General to New Zealand.
