SPEAKERS: Simon Walker CBE and Mary Strang

Simon and Mary are a formidable duo with a passionate interest in the Great Britain policitcal scene.  Mary originally came from Oamaru and was a journalist for some 15 years.   She and Simon have two children, and they live in London and spend part of the NZ summer at their bach in Awaroa in Golden Bay.    Mary initiated the Foundation for Australian and New Zealand Arts, a London based charity dedicated to bringing the range and vitality of Australian and New Zealand arts to audiences in the UK.    Simon is a business advisor and consultant.  He was Director General of the Institute of Directors from 2011 to 2016, having previously been Communications Secretary to HM Queen Elizabeth II and an advisor to former Prime Minister, John Major.    Many will remember him as a TV journalist with TV One for five years.
